The stand-off at Bunkerville is NOT about desert turtles… it IS about the land, and more directly about the water! A planned 50,000 home development along with an industrial park. There are rumors that this will be designated as a “Trade Free Zone” so the Chinese can build a solar panel manufacturing plant without having to pay duties or taxes. We have yet to confirm that for sure. But we can confirm the development plans and you’ll see below.
Harry Reid shouts about the lawlessness of the Bundy’s not paying federal grazing taxes (they should not have to because the grazing lands are public lands not federal), and here Reid is pushing for a Chinese company to come to Nevada, set-up shop, and not pay taxes or any fees for their profits.
The stand-off at Bunkerville is also about gaining access to the water under the ground which the Bundy cows roam. The Lincoln County Land Act was initiated as a result of the Harvey Whitemore Coyote Springs Development Project that straddles Clark County (Bunkerville and Bundy Ranch) and Lincoln County.
